Recently the news has been filled with stories of how a challenging economy has impacted cultural organizations in Northeastern Pennsylvania and beyond. Despite these challenges, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic’s first priority is to ensure the longevity of our mission to present live symphonic performances and music education at the highest level of artistic excellence, and that we remain a vital cultural resource in northeastern Pennsylvania for generations to come

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic concert “Tchaikovsky & Mozart” is scheduled for one performance only on Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Scranton Cultural Center. The performance is scheduled to begin at 8PM. A pre-concert lecture/ reception hosted by Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic Music Director is scheduled for 7 PM.

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic will present their “Music in Our Schools” program at The Scranton School for Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing, 1800 North Washington Ave, in Scranton on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 10 AM The performance will feature NEPA Philharmonic percussionists Bob Nowak, Steve Matheison and Jim Thoma.

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic is proud to announce their 2010-2011 Season. Moving into their 39th year, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic continues to uphold a tradition of providing orchestral music that everyone can appreciate, enjoy and afford. From a romantic opening concert featuring their very own Concertmaster Erica Kiesewetter and Principal Cellist Alberto Parrini, to The Texas Tenors straight from America's Got Talent! to the one and only Marvin Hamlisch, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic’s 2010-2011 season has something for everyone.

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic will present their annual Independence Concerts on Thursday, July 3rd at PNC Field in Lackawanna County and again on Friday, July 4th in Luzerne County at Kirby Park. Both concerts begin at 7:30 PM. Fireworks will begin at dusk following the performances. For additional information log onto: www.nepaphil.org.
