Music in Our Schools

Our Music in Our Schools program takes the Philharmonic right to the children. A small group of NEPA Philharmonic musicians visit schools in our region to present an entertaining, interactive lecture, and give a short performance. Small ensembles of strings, percussion, woodwinds, and brass instruments will rotate their participation in the Music in Our Schools program. Partnering with NEIU#19, we focus our attention on Grades 3, 4, & 5, because that is the age children choose their instruments if their school has a band or orchestra program. The numbers of schools visited by this will directly correlate with our ability to secure funding*.
