Music in Our Schools

Our new Music in Our Schools program takes the Philharmonic right to the children. Music Director Maestro Lawrence Loh escorts a small group of NEPA Philharmonic musicians to the schools in our region, to present an entertaining interactive lecture, and often doing a performance, or rehearsing with the school orchestra or chorus. Quartets of strings, percussion, woodwinds, and brass instruments will rotate their participation in the Music in Our Schools program. Partnering with NEIU#19, we focus our attention on Grades 3, 4, & 5, because that is the age children choose their instruments if their school has a band or orchestra program. The numbers of schools visited by this will directly correlate with our ability to secure funding*.
