In a return engagement, James J. Peck and Veronica Dewitt will amaze you with their original masks and movement, designed especially for Carnival of the Animals.
James J. Peck: Founder, Artistic Director & Performer has been a professional actor, teacher and mask artist for 25 years. 2010 will be his 7th year as A.D. of Nutshell and 19th season as an actor at Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland OR. Nutshell Masks & Theater was founded in 2003 to create, perform and teach mask-work. Nutshell has performed and taught workshops with the Rogue Valley, Eugene, Williamsport (Pa.) and Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic symphonies. James graduated from Northwestern University, and has studied mime and masks in San Francisco with the Houle-Wibaux Mime Theater, masks and mythology at the Del’ Arte School and mask-dance as well as carving in Bali. He has taught at Southern Oregon University and Ashland High School. With OSF, along with acting he has taught mask workshops, created masks and performed in them in; The Skin of Our Teeth, Dr. Faustus, Life is a Dream, and Don Quixote. Veronica DeWitt: Performer began her dance training in 2003 as a freshman at the University of Oregon. Having recently graduated from there she is in her third season with Dancing People Company in Ashland were she is a teacher, choreographer and performer. This will be here second time performing with Nutshell.
